Ari Fish (Beel)

1. Body Shape

Elongated, cylindrical body.

Smooth and scaleless, typical of catfishes.

2. Color

Back: Dark grey or brownish.

Belly: Whitish-silver.

Fins often reddish or brown-tinted.

3. Head & Mouth

Broad and flattened head.

Wide mouth with four pairs of barbels (whiskers), which help in sensing food in muddy water.

4. Size

Usually 30–60 cm, but some species grow over 1 meter.

Can weigh up to 15–20 kg in larger rivers/estuaries.
