1. Head & Eyes

Very large head compared to the body.

Eyes are positioned below the line of the mouth, giving it a “downward-looking” appearance.

Head has a mottled, dark gray to black coloration.

2. Body

Deep, heavy body with irregular dark blotches or mottling over a grayish-silver background.

Unlike Silver Carp (which is more uniformly silver), Bighead Carp looks spotted.

3. Size

Grows very large, often 60–100 cm.

Can weigh up to 40 kg in favorable conditions.
