1. Body Shape

Looks more elongated than Rohu or Catla.

2. Color

Back: Dark olive-green

Sides: Silvery with golden shine.

Belly: Whitish.

Scales are large and distinct, with darker edges giving a net-like pattern.

3. Head & Mouth

Head is broad but shorter compared to body length.

Mouth is terminal (stright)

No barbels

4. Size

Commonly 5–10 kg in ponds.

Can grow up to 1.5 meters and weigh 25–30 kg under good conditions
