Slender, elongated body with a straight (less arched) back compared to Rohu.
Streamlined and torpedo-shaped.

Silvery body with a darker (grayish/greenish) back.
Fins often reddish to dusky in color.

Small head.
Mouth is sub-terminal (slightly downward-facing), adapted for bottom feeding.
Lacks barbels (unlike Common Carp).
4. Size
Commonly 0.5–2 kg in markets.
Can grow up to 10–12 kg in rivers or well-managed ponds.
