Local Magur Fish

1. Body Shape

Elongated, cylindrical, and scaleless body.

Slimy skin covered with mucus (helps in breathing).

2. Color

Dark brown to blackish on the back.

Yellowish or pale on the belly.

Sometimes appears greenish or grayish.

3. Head & Mouth

Broad, flat head.

Mouth wide with 4 pairs of long barbels (whiskers) around it.

Small sharp teeth for feeding.

4. Size

Commonly 15–30 cm long.

Can grow up to 40–50 cm and weigh around 1–1.5 kg.
