Shol Fish

1. Body Shape

Long, cylindrical body.

Tapers toward the tail.

Resembles other snakeheads like Channa marulius but is smaller.

2. Color

Back: Dark brown to blackish.

Sides: Olive or greenish with irregular yellowish stripes or blotches.

Belly: Pale white.

Juveniles show more distinct stripes.

3. Head & Mouth

Head broad and flattened, resembling a snake.

Mouth wide, with sharp canine-like teeth.

Lower jaw slightly projecting.

4. Size

Common size: 30–60 cm.

Can grow up to 1 meter and weigh 5–7kg
